It was a huge pleasure to be the Stage Advisor and Moderator for Health Tech again this year at Techsauce Global Summit Special Edition 5-8 October – virtual! We were lucky to have high end speakers from both Thailand, USA, Israel and Denmark, all leaders of digital health. Across time zones we discussed how to scale telemedicine, how to secure fast implementation of Health Tech in times of pressure and last, but not least, how technology can support Mental Health through the Pandemic.

Covid-19 has meant rapid transformation in Healthcare. Traditionally, Innovating in Healthcare has seen barriers due to culture. The Health Tech company 02matic from Denmark is a case story of how Covid-19 has meant a new paradigm for innovation in healthcare. The 02Matic oxygen robot invention experienced sudden growth and tailwind in hospitals. At Techsauce Virtual Summit 19-20 June Susie A. Ruff moderated a session with CEO of 02Matic, Farzad Saber, where they discussed how 02Matic broke through the ice and created value for both patients and healthcare staff during the first phases of the pandemic. When Danish hospitals with short notice decided to purchase and implement 02Matic robots the company had to – with a few days’ notice – transform face-to-face workshops into virtual workshops and instruction videos to healthcare professionals. Another challenge was the delivery of robots as the hospitals were in need for warm hands and technology that could support the oxygen treatment.

As an introduction to the session Susie gave a brief overview of Denmark’s leading position in Digital Health.

The Board is headed by the President of Chulalongkorn University and is playing a vital role in drawing strategic planning for the School in the area of school development, strategy implementation and external partnership construction with the aim to boost the growth of the School and to steer it towards its objectives. The School is launching its international Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Integrated Innovation in August 2019.

In the workshop carried out in Helsinki, RUFF & CO. facilitated presentations and panel discussions with Finnish Health Tech startups Peilli Vision (VR for rehabilitation) and GoodLife Technology (Gamification for rehabilitation). The next day RUFF & CO. headed a workshop focused on Market Communication and Story-telling in Healthcare at Upgraded in Maria01, a former hospital in Helsinki converted into a Health Tech hub.
